Foundations in Trauma-Informed Care - UPMC Learning
This module focuses on foundations in Trauma-informed care, which by nature promotes inter-professional collaboration. Given the ubiquitous nature of trauma and its sequelae, aspects of this module are relevant across all medical settings, disciplines, and healthcare professions.
The course content for this training is hosted on The UPMC Learning website, which is only accessible to those who are directly employed by UPMC.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Define trauma and recognize various types of traumatic experiences
- Evaluate adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and their impact on health
- Describe and apply the key principles of trauma-informed care
- Learn about workplace trauma and its impact on personal wellbeing
- Identify strategies to manage workplace trauma
