This class focuses on older adult assessment and practical interventions to improve patient care.   Additionally, this training addresses a working knowledge of potentially inappropriate medications, physical, psychological, and psychosocial assessment skills, and common geriatric syndromes. An overview of dementia and challenging behavior is presented. For Registered Nurses, 6.0 ANCC credits will be provided.

Nurses, LPNs, PCTs, NAs are encouraged to attend.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the learner will: 

  • Differentiate between normal and abnormal aging changes.
  • Identify potentially inappropriate medications for older adults.
  • Develop skills for older adult assessment and practical interventions to improve outcomes along the age continuum.
