Biosimilars: Market Landscape and Pipeline- UPMC Health Plan

Current high-spend in injectable drug category. Need to provide information on lower-cost biosimilar products already on the market and those in the development pipeline to increase utilization of these products and reduce spend.

Target Audience

Primary care physicians, specialists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize key disease states in which biosimilar products are currently FDA approved.
  • Identify biosimilars in the pipeline.
  • Determine the possible affects of new biosimilars as they gain FDA approval and enter the market
