Journal Club - Enhancing supportive medication patient education for oncology nurses
Journal Club is designed to give participants experience with appraising current literature and identifying best practice based on research.
Target Audience
This course is open to anyone interested in the topic.
Learning Objectives
The learner will be able to:
- Critique the journal article by identifying the purpose, design, limitations, and results.
- Describe the role of oncology nurses in empowering patients through effective communication and education.
- Explain evidence-based strategies to improve patient education practices related to supportive medications.
- Identify factors that hinder patients’ understanding of their therapies and adherence to their treatments by helping them to monitor and prepare for adverse effects.
