Leaning into Values for Coaching and Care Management_Enduring
Program Description
Linking values to motivation and goals can strengthen individual commitment and self-efficacy in the process of behavior change. This session will deepen participants understanding of the importance of values in coaching and care management conversations, recognize how values identification can support individualized care for members, along with providing actionable tools and strategies for clarifying, evoking, and applying values.
SPECIAL NOTE:
There is no educational content to this course. This course is designed to supplement training that has already occurred. This course is designed to only administer the post-test and collect CME evaluations.

Nurses, Social Workers, Health Coaches, Registered Dieticians, Pharmacists, and Paramedics / EMTs

Amanda Gabarda, EdD, MPH, NBC-HWC
Dr. Gabarda is the Senior Director of Clinical Training & Development at UPMC Health Plan where she is responsible for the creation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of training and skill development of lifestyle health coaches and care managers. She has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock University, a Master of Public Health from Walden University, and a Doctor of Education in Health and Physical Activity from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Gabarda is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and a Certified Health Education Specialist and has 15+ years of experience in health promotion and health coaching.
Brittany Chapman, MSW, NBC-HWC
Brittany is a Clinical Engagement Coordinator at UPMC Health Plan. Her responsibilities include professional skill development and training of care managers and health coaches. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Wright State University and a master's degree in social work from the University of Southern California. Brittany is also a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach with about 6 years of experience in Health Coaching.
