Learning Objectives

Following completion of the education presentation and participation in the simulation, the learner will recognize obstetrical warning signs related to hemorrhage, hypertension, and eclampsia. 
The learner will also verbalize the roles in Condition O, use of Team Stepps communication, role in STAT C/S, recognition and care of surgical site.
•    Define, identify, and plan for proper care of patients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
•    Define, identify, and plan for proper care of the patient with a placental abruption.
•    Define, identify, and plan for proper care of the pregnant patient in cardiac arrest. 
•    Define, identify, and plan for proper incision/skin care of the surgical patient.
•    Simulate patient care roles in scenarios related to maternal hypertensive crisis.
•    Simulate patient care roles in scenarios related to placental abruption.
•    Simulate patient care roles in scenarios related to the pregnant patient in cardiac arrest.
•    Simulate patient care roles in scenarios related to the proper incision/skin care of the surgical patient.
