MedEd Faculty Development Program: Teaching for Retention 11.11.21

This exciting new program features 4-week, small-enrollment, online “mini-courses” focused on timely topics in medical education. Participants will gain critical knowledge and skills, hands-on practice, expert feedback, and the opportunity to network with colleagues. 

Meets Thursdays 4:30-6:30 pm on 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 12/2

Learning Objectives

 

  • Identify learner’s struggling with medical knowledge
  • Build a differential diagnosis for why your learners have low medical knowledge
  • Describe the growth mindset, its importance in remediation, and ways to help foster it
  • List several evidence-based study strategies for better learner retention
  • Develop a learner-centered approach to coaching your learners with low medical knowledge
  • Specify how you will meaningfully measure the success of your learners’ remediation and your program
