Inservice for nursing staff, including hands-on skills, reviewing need, placement procedures, proper care, and maintenance of percutaneous cholangiogram drainage systems

  1. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to differentiate between an internal-external and an external PTC drain.
  2. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to describe the MRCP and ERCP procedures.
  3. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to explain the process of changing a PTC dressing.
  4. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to recognize proper care orders for PTC drains in a patient chart.
