Navigating Grief Conversations_Enduring

This interactive one-hour program is designed to strengthen healthcare professionals’ confidence and competence in supporting patients, families, and caregivers experiencing loss, grief, and bereavement. Through evidence-based strategies for understanding grief, navigating difficult conversations, addressing cultural and existential perspectives, and promoting healthy coping and recovery, learners will enhance their ability to provide compassionate support while fostering stronger interprofessional collaboration in end-of-life and bereavement care.

Target Audience

Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians

Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate the stages of typical and complex grief and apply evidence-based interventions appropriate to each presentation.
  • Assess common grief reactions and implement healthy wellness and healing strategies to support adaptive coping.
  • Evaluate approaches to supporting bereaved individuals, incorporating concepts of symbolic mortality and cultural worldviews into compassionate care and communication.
