Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Awareness 2022 Virtual Conference Series - Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome: A Family Guide Tool Kit

June 1, 2022

The Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Family Guide Tool Kit is formatted in a non-judgmental proactive tone and can be used in all prevention phases of care: prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum. Information and resources on maternal and child health, injury prevention, immunizations, and emergency preparedness are provided to answer questions to families facing these issues. Throughout the tool kit, we reinforce the need for the birthing person to care for themselves and to speak to their provider, engaging in a conversation, to disclose and discuss medications or substances used during their pregnancy. Through collective efforts, we want to improve warm hand off and outcomes for pregnant and postpartum individuals with substance use disorder and infants prenatally exposed to substances, including opioids.
