Registered Nurses 

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Discuss how neonatal specimens are processed in the central lab
  • Describe the coagulation pathways and their application to the NICU patient
  • Describe the pathophysiology of hyperbilirubinemia in the neonatal population.
  • Successfully participate in a neonatal exchange transfusion simulation
  • Describe pharmacologic principles related to medication administration in the newborn
