Neonatal Nursing Fellowship Class- Transition and Support

This program will review symptoms present in a baby based on mother's pregnancy course. Knowledge of maternal issues that affect neonatal patients is necessary to provide wholistic NICU care. The majority of NICU patients are transported in and understanding the transport process is important. Knowledge of mothers with substance use and the effect on the newborn is essential to provide care to these infants.

1 State three supportive measures that are utilized to help a newborn transition.

 2. Discuss the benefits of the Parent Partnership unit.

3. Discuss the process of neonatal transport in the UPMC system.

4. Name four maternal issues that impact the developing fetus.
