Neurological Devices for Critical Care Nursing
Due to the low volume of EVDs, there is a lack of knowledge related to how to manage, how to troubleshoot, and when to call additional resources such as neurosurgery to intervene. This activity was designed to educate nurses on EVDs and possible issues.
After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:
- describe and provide appropriate care to patients with neurological hardware devices
- recall steps to prime, level, zero, and manage EVDs and how to troubleshoot for EVDs
