Newborn Medicine Genetic Lecture

As science evolves and more genetic testing is available for patient diagnosis there needs to be education and clarity on which test is appropriate, which testing requires informed consent, who obtains the consent and who counsels the family when results are available. this information will be reviewed in this course.

2. Explain the utility, benefits, and limitations of commonly ordered genetic tests.

3. Review common indications for Medical Genetics consults.
