This course will help with bereavement in the NICU Inexperienced staff caring for dying patients. Reviewing available resources for bereaved families as well as staff members.

Learning Objectives
Following this course:
- Participants will be able to identify what we are able to offer our families in regards to legacy items, comfort, and support services during the bereavement process in the NICU.
- Participants will be able to describe how to provide post-mortem care and the associated forms and documentation required for all patient deaths.
- Participants will have a better understanding of ways to improve their communication skills regarding what to expect during an infant death, including appropriate word choice and common phrases to avoid.
