OAPP Grand Rounds - The Value of Values Identifying and Implementing Innovative and Cost-Effective Laboratory Studies in the Clinical Setting (WISER)
This enduring material will address gaps in knowledge, competence, and performance related to interpreting nuanced laboratory values, including emerging tests and updated reference ranges. By strengthening clinicians’ ability to apply interpretation frameworks and integrate lab data into care plans, this activity aims to improve diagnostic efficiency, reduce unnecessary testing, and enhance interprofessional communication for better patient outcomes.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the value of patient laboratory acquisition for in-clinic and telehealth care patients including lab sensitivities, patient limitations, and impact upon clinical outcomes.
- Identify the most innovative lab values benefitting patients in the acute/critical care settings, inclusive of advantages and limitations.
- Explain the host of serum markers associated with malignancies inclusive of screening of at-risk patient populations and for observing trends in known cancer patients..
