Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Recognize those who use opioids commonly use it in the peripartum period and overdose deaths are a leading cause of pregnancy-related mortality
• Recommend that all pregnant patients should be screened for opioid use disorder
• Explain how buprenorphine (monoproduct and in combination with naloxone) and methadone are both safe and effective in pregnancy
• Describe how rooming in and using Eat-Sleep-Console criteria can help minimize opioid requirements in babies observed for NOWS
