PA AAP - Ten Steps to a Breastfeeding Friendly Facility Module 15: Implementing the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding

This enduring material equips physicians with the knowledge and competence to implement the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and manage common breastfeeding challenges. Through evidence-based content and interprofessional collaboration, the training supports improved patient outcomes and system-wide integration of breastfeeding best practices.

Target Audience

Physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals who provide prenatal care, inpatient maternity care, and postpartum care.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this module participants will be able to

  • Analyze challenges and formulate solutions for implementing the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding within your facility
  • Explain how the Ten Steps contribute to optimal infant brain development and care
  • Identify safety protocols that align with and enhance breastfeeding support practices
  • Demonstrate clinical standards and expectations required for each of the Ten Steps in practice
