This course will review how to recognize certain pediatric emergencies and the skills to properly treat certain events. After completing this course, individuals will be able to work together as a inter-professional team to properly manage and treat patients experiencing life threatening events such as respiratory distress/failure, shock, or cardiac arrhythmias

Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Perform high-quality CPR per AHA recommendations
- Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest early and begin CPR within 10 seconds
- Describe roles and responsibilities of team members and elements of an effective team
- Differentiate between respiratory distress and failure
- Differentiate between compensated and decompensated shock,
- Identify causes of different types of shock such as hypovolemic, obstructive, cardiogenic, and distributive
- Identify common arrhythmias in pediatric patients
- Describe clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias
