This course will prepare nurses for the role of charge nurse.
Target Audience
RN ready for charge nurse role.
Learning Objectives
After course completion the learner will be able to:
- Identify what a “good catch” is & how to report it.
- verbalize two early interventions to assist with service recovery on the unit.
- explain the downtime process and identify the steps to print downtime paperwork.
- verbalize the steps of the process of testing for fitness for duty.
- describe the daily requirements for crash cart maintenance.
- identify three key behaviors of the charge nurse role.
- demonstrate the ability to utilize Shift Select to plan staffing for the unit.
