Pathways Leadership Training Program: Session 4: Credentialing and Privileging Potpourri_Enduring

Think speed dating—only smarter. Welcome to “speed training,” the final 2025 PATHWAYS leadership session, where four fast-paced, 30-minute segments deliver essential credentialing insights tailored to board members, physician recruiters, non-leadership practitioners, and credentials committees. From governance responsibilities and contract pitfalls to application timelines and committee duties, this two-hour session packs targeted, actionable guidance for every stakeholder.

Target Audience

This CME activity is designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, and psychologists to enhance their understanding of credentialing practices and health status evaluations, ensuring both patient safety and practitioner support.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this audio conference, participants will be able to:

  • Implement processes to help the governing board fulfill its lawful duties with respect to oversight of the medical staff credentialing process.
  • Construct recruitment and onboarding communications—including offers, letters of intent, and contract drafts—that clearly define expectations and proactively safeguard the hospital and health system from risks related to undisclosed or unresolved practitioner concerns.
  • Communicate with members of the medical staff at large, to generate better understanding of (and avoid misunderstandings about) the credentialing process in general and to emphasize/educate practitioners about their obligations to actively participate in the completion of their credentialing file and resolution of any concerns.

SPECIAL NOTE:  This site is designed to supplement training that has already occurred and should be used to administer the post-test, collect CME evaluations, and issue credit
