This course was designed to educate new and experienced nurses struggling to identify seriously ill children in need of immediate interventions. This includes children suffering from respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac arrest.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Perform high quality CPR
  • Identify patients requiring immediate interventions
  • Identify pediatric emergencies, including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and shock
  • Demonstrate patient reassessment after applying interventions
  • Demonstrate effective team dynamics
  • Demonstrate initial stabilization of a seriously ill and injured child, including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and shock
