
Pennsylvania Immunization Education Program (IEP) - Adult Immunizations
The Pennsylvania Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics and the PA Immunization Coalition have teamed up to host the updated PA Immunization Education Program. The Pennsylvania Immunization Education Program (IEP) provides up-to-date immunization education to health professionals across the Commonwealth. The program includes information on the basics of vaccine-preventable diseases, current disease epidemiology, and immunization recommendations and schedules. The program will focus its efforts on practical tips on storage and handling, COVID-19 vaccine training, motivational interviewing, and best practices to increase routine rates in medical homes. The PA Immunization Education Program's mission is to improve and maintain high immunization rates through the education of clinicians, primary care practice staff, and related health professional groups to reduce the effects of vaccine-preventable diseases. • Part 4 - Adult Immunization
Target Audience
This training is primarily directed to Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physician Assistants and other clinical staff.
Learning Objectives
Part 4:
At the conclusion of this activity/session/course, participants should be able to:
- Describe the ACIP recommended vaccines for adults.
- Describe 2 strategies to share when speaking to a person or their caregiver when they are hesitant about receiving a vaccine.
- Provide at least 1 example of a practice initiative that will help adults receive their vaccines.
