Preparing for the Patient with Hypertensive Disorder
This in-service will provide the nursing staff with the knowledge and education to identify hypertensive disorders among pregnant women.

The learner will be able to understand the criteria for the diagnosis of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
The learner will be able to understand when to treat hypertension disorders
The learner will be able to describe first line therapy and treatment
The learner will be able to understand when to initiate /escalate care for seizure prophylactics
The learner will be able to communicate and demonstrate the critical tasks that should be performed when an eclamptic seizure occurs
The learner will be able to demonstrate the proper care of the patient immediately following an eclamptic seizure
The learner will be able to communicate effectively during and after an eclamptic seizure
