Providing CVC Care for Best Outcomes in the Intestinal Care Population

This course will review types of central lines and the care. Education will be reviewed that is needed for new patients/parents preparing to be discharged with a central line.

Learning Objectives

Following the session: 

  1. Participants will be able to identify the difference in caring for types of CVCs present in our ICare population.
  2. Participants will be able to demonstrate the expected standards of care for an ICare patient with sepsis.
  3. Participants will be able to explain the importance of preserving access in an ICare patient/ICare patient who is listed for transplant.
  4. Participants will be able to summarize education the bedside RN should be giving and reinforcing for new patients/patients discharging with a central line
