Additional Information
The CHP Center for Rare Disease Therapy has joined other institutions around the world in celebrating Rare Disease Day annually through a poster session on rare disease research the past two years. This year, we are adding an hour-long seminar featuring talks from three of our providers discussing their most up-to-date research and clinical progress in their rare disease of expertise. The director of the Center for Rare Disease Therapy will also introduce the speakers as well as provide an overview of our Center and resources available. This lecture will include talks from the coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Prader Willi Syndrome Center (Ann Johansson, PhD, CRNP), the director of the Children's Center for Neurogenomics (Deepa Rajan, MD), and from University of Pittsburgh professor Gary Thomas, PhD, who will address a current partnership with the non-profit organization n-Lorem to bring cutting-edge personalized therapies to patients. Following the lecture, there will be an hour-long poster session featuring research from across UPMC in rare disease care and research.
