Reducing Risk, Building Trust: Harm Reduction Approaches in COE Settings” focuses on practical ways to integrate harm reduction into clinical care. Participants will learn how to apply safer use counseling, risk mitigation, and nonjudgmental communication in everyday encounters. The session also covers strategies to reduce stigma within care teams and promote equitable, respectful care. Attendees will explore how to assess workflows and care settings to incorporate harm reduction services, including screening, counseling, and connections to community resources.

• Apply harm reduction principles in clinical encounters, including safer use counseling, risk mitigation, and nonjudgmental communication strategies. • Develop strategies to reduce stigma within clinical teams and improve the delivery of equitable, respectful care. • Assess clinical workflows and care environments to identify opportunities for incorporating harm reduction services (e.g., screening, counseling, linkage to community resources).
