Ethical standards and responsible practices are the context for successful scientific research. At any step in the research process, you may need to address ethical issues in a thoughtful, responsible manner. The CTSI Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Center serves is a resource for researchers at the University of Pittsburgh.
Learning Objectives
Objectives of this RCR include:
1) understanding the inclusion of non-English speaking communities into clinical and translational research, from a health equity and anti-racist perspective;
2) reviewing best practices for translations;
3) building bilingual and bicultural research teams.
This session will provide an introduction to equitably including communities whose primary language is not English into research. Inclusion of non-English speaking communities is essential to promoting health equity and ensuring that our work centers the perspectives of the growing immigrant and non-English speaking communities in Pittsburgh.
