2. Use at least four solution-focused strategies in their work with clients;

3. Identify at least three ways that trauma impacts individuals cognitively, emotionally, and behaviorally; and

4. Apply and adapt solution-focused brief therapy strategies in the context of individuals who have experienced trauma.

  • What do we already do that works with clients with trauma? – 20 minutes

  • SF questions for motivating work – 15 minutes

10 Minute Break (flexible length)

 

Morning  2 – 90 minutes

 

  • SF somatic work – 30 minutes (10 minutes intro, 20 practice)
    • Didactic presentation, small group exercises
  • SF emotional & imagery work – 30 minutes (10 minutes intro, 20 practice)
    • Didactic presentation, small group exercises
  • SF cognitive exercises – 30 minutes (10 minutes intro, 20 practice)
    • Didactic presentation, small group exercises

 

Lunch – 60 minutes

 

Afternoon 1 – 90 minutes

 

  • Introduction to SF case consultation format – 10 minutes
    • Didactic presentation
  • Practice SF case consultation – 80 minutes

  • Post-traumatic growth – 15 minutes
    • Didactic presentation
  • A river crossed exercise – 20 minutes
    • Individual reflection, large group discussion
  • Deliberate practice supervision plan – 30 minutes

  • Wrapping up, Q&A, etc. – 15 minutes (flexible time)
