Horty Springer Top 11 Peer Review Best Practices - SESSION NINE: Effective Collegial Counseling – How to Be “One and Done!” (And How to Document It, Where the Documentation Is Kept, and Who Has Access to It)

After 30 years of working in the trenches with physician and hospital leaders, and after conducting innumerable onsite training sessions and national courses, HortySpringer’s Paul Verardi has now created an 11-session “on demand” education and training series for physician leaders and hospitals.

This series is designed to be viewed as a whole, with the sessions being like gears in a watch.  But it has also been developed so that if you only need assistance with several aspects of this complex area, each individual session delivers on our commitment to provide you with substantive, concrete guidance and to not waste one single minute of your time – i.e., the “no fluff” rule!

Target Audience

This course was designed for hospital administrators, physicians and clinicians who need to be better informed about how to manage and possibly improve their overall performance.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this audio conference, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the Progressive Steps Continuum and incorporate it in all peer review processes at the hospital, irrespective of whether the performance issue involves clinical, professionalism, health, or utilization concerns.
  • Utilize a carefully developed Checklist when preparing for, conducting, and then documenting Collegial Counseling sessions
  • Describe the two categories of documentation that are contained in a Practitioner’s Confidential File and develop a Policy that governs access to each.
