Supporting Children with an Oncology Diagnosis in the School Setting
This presentation will provide information and resources for children returning to school post cancer diagnosis. It will cover medical aspects of care, as well as psychosocial considerations.

Upon completion of this presentation, the learner will:
1. Identify differences in the return to school process for children diagnosed with cancer
2. Recognize types of central lines commonly seen in pediatric oncology patients
3. Describe care considerations for children with a cancer diagnosis
4. Identify resources for caring for children with cancer in the school setting
5. Explain guidelines for care related to blinatumomab therapy
6. Be introduced to the Back-to-School Program
7. Highlight the need for allowing classmates and school staff to be educated about the patient’s journey
8. Explain the benefits of this type of forum to decrease the anxiety and apprehension of the returning patient
