Telehealth and Access to Pediatric Subspecialty Care

Access to pediatric subspecialty care is a national issue, but with local and specialty-specific nuances. The goal of this module is to review existing frameworks for thinking about access to pediatric subspecialty care, and to review potential telehealth-based solutions, so that participants may consider how these frameworks and solutions might apply to their local contexts.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Assess local barriers to subspecialty care through the lens of published frameworks
  • Assess suitability of specific telehealth strategies for addressing specific subspecialty access barriers
  • Identify resources to support implementation of consultative telehealth models
