Trauma and EMDR Education for Care Managers

This activity will equip nursing and social work team members to provide a holistic assessment of BH patients with Trauma. It will guide patients to the right resources, at the right time and activate new tools and skills to address their bio-psycho-social needs. This activity will help reduce the burden that is placed on providers at UPMC whom are left to manage a population that is lacking in resources.

Learning Objectives

1 By the end of this session, participants will be able to demonstrate an approach to screening for trauma in nonpsychiatric settings.

2. By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe the impact of trauma on mental and behavioral health symptoms.

3. By the end of this sessions, participants will be able to identify patients who may benefit from EMDR and local EMDR resources.
