Treatment for 2nd and 3rd degree Burns in the OR
This presentation will discuss the operative management of a burn patient. The procedure of burn wound excision and what equipment is needed will be explained. Burn wound care in the operating room is a specialty service and the operating room staff need to know what to do for burn surgeries. The operating room staff will learn the difference of the application of allograft vs autograft. For allografting the operating room staff need to know and demonstrate the completion of the tissue tracking form and charting requirements by the governing bodies that oversee the use of allografts in burn patients.
