University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Preceptor Development Seminar Spring 2025: Therapy Updates: Advances in HIV PrEP | New Treatments for Dermatologic Conditions_Online

This continuing education program is designed to educate attendees on new therapeutic advances in two rapidly changing areas: HIV prevention, and treatment of psoriasis and other dermatologic conditions.

Clinicians will have the latest evidence for prevention and treatment protocols, which will assist them in customizing regimens for their patients. As the evidence is reviewed from the literature, clinicians also will know where to find information on new advances in both therapeutic areas for future patient clinical decision-making.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the key pathophysiological processes contributing to the development of psoriasis
  2. Summarize the current treatment guidelines for psoriasis
  3. Discuss newly approved psoriasis treatments and promising therapies in development
  4. Identify best practices for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis
  5. Describe the clinical studies of the efficacy of current oral and long-acting HIV pre-exposure modalities
  6. Forecast the future of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis options
