UPMC ONLINE SANE Adult/Adolescent Course
There is a detrimental lack of training for sexual assault nurse examiners with in UPMC. This course aims to increase the numbers with in UPMC system by providing nurses with sexual assault nurse examiner training.
The course will be offered in six segments. Participants must complete all segments and complete an evaluation to receive credit of 40 hours.

Learning Objectives
1. Learning Outcome: The overall learning outcome for basic SANE education is to provide registered nurses and advanced practice nurses with the knowledge, and skills, and judgment to provide competent, comprehensive, patient-centered, coordinated care to patients being evaluated for sexual assault, or suspected of having been sexually assaulted.
In support of improving patient care, the University of Pittsburgh is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The maximum number of hours awarded for this Continuing Nursing Education activity is _40_ contact hours.
Other health care professionals will receive a certificate of attendance confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.
