UPMC ONLINE SANE Adult/Adolescent Course Winter Spring 2023
There is a detrimental lack of training for sexual assault nurse examiners with in UPMC. Rendering care to this very vulnerable population demands advanced skills and this course provides those skills needed to ensure optimal care to victims of violence. This course aims to increase the numbers with in UPMC system.

Learning Objectives
The overall learning outcome for basic SANE education is to provide registered nurses and advanced practice nurses with the knowledge, and skills, and judgment to provide competent, comprehensive, patient-centered, coordinated care to patients being evaluated for sexual assault, or suspected of having been sexually assaulted.
In support of improving patient care, the University of Pittsburgh is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The maximum number of hours awarded for this Continuing Nursing Education activity is 40 contact hours.
