After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Identify common congenital and acquired heart disease that would require a ventricular assist device
- Identify ventricular assist devices commonly used at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
- Understand the functionality and purpose of ventricular assist devices commonly used at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
- Apply basic practices of nursing care related to ventricular assist device dressing changes
