Additional Information
Agenda: The Way Forward: Integrated Health Symposium, is a collaborative, regional initiative hosted by Adagio Health the Rural Communities Care Consortium, the Hamot Health Foundation, and Slippery Rock University. The symposium is an opportunity for medical and behavioral health professionals in Western Pennsylvania to focus on the importance of providing integrated models of care toward the goal of improving health outcomes for residents of rural Western PA and especially for perinatal women in recovery.
Perinatal women in recovery in rural Western Pennsylvania face unique and complex challenges, including limited access to specialized care, social stigma, and geographic barriers. Traditional healthcare models often fall short in addressing the multifaceted needs of this population, leading to poorer maternal and infant outcomes. This symposium will explore the critical importance of implementing integrated healthcare models that seamlessly weave together substance use disorder treatment, mental health services, obstetric care, and other wraparound services. Participants will learn key strategies for developing and sustaining these integrated approaches in rural settings, highlighting the benefits of collaborative care coordination, telehealth innovations, and community-based support systems. By examining successful frameworks and identifying persistent gaps, this symposium aims to foster a deeper understanding of how integrated care can optimize recovery trajectories, improve the well-being of perinatal women, and ultimately strengthen families and communities across rural Western Pennsylvania.
