Dietary Guideline Updates 2020-2025

This session will serve as a clinical update on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025. It will also provide an update on UPMC Health Plan Nutrition Programs & Interventions such as RxWell Eating Well and MyHealth Eating Well. Staff will learn key findings and updates within the guidelines and all interventions.

Ms.  Behanna has practiced 11 Years as a Registered Dietitian.  For the past 10 years she has worked as  a telephonic Lifestyle Health Coach at UPMC Health Plan,   She is also an adjunct Instructor for the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Nursing Program where she is teaching Nutrition for Clinical Practice.

 

Jenna Valenza, MPH, NBHWC   UPMC Health Plan : Lead, Clinical Training Operations

Ms.  Valenza is the Lead of Clinical Training & Operations at UPMC Health Plan where she supports the creation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of training and skill development of lifestyle health coaches and care managers. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biobehavioral Health from Penn State University as well as a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia Southern University. Ms. Valenza is also a certified health education specialist (CHES) and a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach with  5 years’ experience in health coaching.

In support of improving patient care, the University of Pittsburgh is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

CCM CE will be provided:  1.5 CE (s)  and will be sent from UPMC Health Plan nurse planner

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, University of Pittsburgh is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. University of Pittsburgh maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 continuing education credits.
