Enhanced Sleep Training
Failure to assess for sleep problems systematically or effectively in preschool age patients. Lack of parental knowledge related to the basics of healthy sleep and the importance of consistent bedtime routine and sleep schedule. Lack of expertise in selection and implementation of interventions for pediatric sleep disturbance. Absence of culturally competent and family-centered approaches to care.
This training will equip behavioral therapists with the knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with pediatric providers to identify developmentally inappropriate sleep patterns using quality sleep assessments, as well as deliver evidence-based psychoeducation that will assist parents in managing sleep problems in their young children.

Learning Objectives
1. Participants will learn to conduct a comprehensive sleep assessment.
2. Participants will become proficient in the delivery of parent psychoeducation related to the basics of healthy sleep (bedtime routine, schedule, sleep health/hygiene and modifiable behaviors (electronics usage, caffeine consumption).
3. Participants will develop skills required to promote consistent, positive bedtime routines and sleep schedules.
4. Participants will acquire knowledge that will facilitate the development of appropriate sleep goals.
5. Participants will acquire knowledge that will and aid in the selection of interventions that are tied to specific sleep problem(s).
6. Participants will understand the importance of adopting a family-centered, culturally competent approach to care.
