Target Audience
The program is intended for healthcare workers and clinicians employed by the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Health Clinics. The training content has been tailored to meet the educational needs of clinicians and prescribers.
Learning Objectives
• Discuss HIV epidemiology and identify ways to prevent HIV transmission.
• Discuss the syndemics related to HIV.
• Describe the importance of taking a sexual history for HIV and STI prevention.
• Utilize the CDC's "5 Ps" approach to sexual history taking.
• Demonstrate skills in taking a sexual history.
• Utilize skills in documenting a sexual health encounter and prevention and treatment recommendations
