Learning Objectives

Design trauma-informed strategies for their team/organization that prioritize physical and emotional safety, addressing the specific needs of their workforce or community.

Apply evidence-based techniques to create interpersonal, organizational, and systemic change that reduces the impact of trauma and fosters resilience.

Evaluate their current practices and policies to identify gaps and opportunities for implementing trauma-informed prevention and care strategies.

Facilitate conversations and partnerships within their professional and community networks to promote collaborative, trauma-informed approaches to resilience-building.

Implement self-care practices that improve personal wellness and prevent burnout, integrating these practices into organizational cultures to support team performance and sustainability.

Develop leadership approaches that model and reinforce trauma-informed principles, promoting a culture of resilience within their teams and organizations.

Social Work (ASWB)
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the University of Pittsburgh is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 5.75 continuing education credits
