Health Care Financing 101
Individuals hired into Discharge planning roles have varied knowledge and training regarding health care coverage and benefit structures. This may impact their ability to proactively plan for post-acute discharge needs. Improving knowledge in this area will allow these individuals to have a better understanding of available and attainable resources for post-discharge needs, as well as identification of coverage limitations. Having an understanding of benefits for the patient population they serve is a key element in effective discharge planning.
