With evolving guideline recommendations, both providers and pharmacists need to be aware of changes in order to optimize patient care. By providing education of updated guidelines, it is the goal to enhance pharmacist knowledge of the guidelines in order to ensure their success.

• Describe the clinical signs and symptoms of a patient with heart failure
• Define and classify heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) according to the functional classes of the New York Heart Association (NYHA) and stages of the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA)
• Evaluate the evidence supporting guideline-directed medication therapy (GDMT) for HFrEF
• Design an evidence-based regimen for a patient with HFrEF
