The Joint Commission released a Sentinel Event alert regarding the increasing incidence of workplace violence within the healthcare setting. As part of this Sentinel Event, the Joint Commission has tasked healthcare organizations to provide workplace violence and de-escalation education to its team members to protect staff, patients, and visitors within the healthcare setting.
