MI Skill Building: Social Determinants of Health: Using a Person-centered Approach 09-15-2022
This Motivational Interviewing skills building will support staff with a model for using person-centered skills when exploring Social Determinates of Health with members and using the Social Determinates of Health Assessment. Learners will then review case studies and practice using common case scenarios in their setting with practice and application.

Learning Objectives
Discuss the purpose of a care manager, coach, or clinician in member engagement
List the Social Determinates of Health as well as the benefits of using a person-centered approach in administering the Social Determinates of Health assessment
Recall key Motivational Interviewing skills that aid in administering assessments in a person-centered way
Demonstrate the ability to utilize a person-centered approach when completing a social determinants of health assessment with a member
