National Curriculum in Reproductive Psychiatry - Intensive Workshop

The National Curriculum in Reproductive Psychiatry - Intensive Workshop provides a forum for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians to become proficient in the field of reproductive psychiatry in a concentrated period of time. Participants have access to pre-workshop readings and media so that when they arrive for the workshop, they are ready to engage in intensive case-based sessions that are facilitated by experienced teachers of reproductive psychiatry. This training has been an invaluable opportunity for varied practitioner types across varied specialties to gain specialized knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of women’s mental health symptoms and diseases across the lifespan.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to
- Describe the biology underlying the relationship between reproductive cycle stages and related psychopathology.
- Describe the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and phenomenology of psychiatric disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum.
- Diagnose and treat perinatal disorders, including but not limited to psychopharmacology.
- Diagnose and treat premenstrual mood disorders, including but not limited to psychopharmacology
- Diagnose and treat perimenopausal mood disorders and related symptoms, including but not limited to psychopharmacology
