This activity will help prepare nurses to care for the neuro patient. A comprehensive agenda including neuro anatomy, assessment, standards of care and recent evidenced based interventions for the stroke and seizure patient, and interdepartmental collaboration.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, the participants should be able to:
Distinguish what part of the brain/vessel is affected based on patient presentation
Use the Glascow Coma Scale, NIHSS, cranial nerve assessment and FOUR score assessment when appropriate
Explain and implement the standards of care for stroke and seizure patients
Differentiate the roles of PT/OT and speech therapy and their involvement in the care of the neuro patient
Differentiate various hemostasis devices and indications for when each should be used in the clinical setting
