Neutrophils: Old Cells with New Tricks
This seminar will explore recent advances in neutrophil biology, highlighting novel roles for these traditionally understood immune cells in health and disease. Dr. Alan Y. Hsu will discuss emerging evidence of neutrophil involvement in processes beyond pathogen clearance, including immune regulation, tissue repair, and disease pathogenesis. The presentation will integrate current research findings with potential clinical applications, offering participants new insights into therapeutic strategies targeting neutrophil function
Target Audience
Physicians
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Describe novel roles of neutrophils in immune regulation, tissue repair, and disease pathogenesis.
Analyze how emerging discoveries in neutrophil biology may inform diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic strategies.
Apply updated knowledge of neutrophil function to clinical reasoning and interdisciplinary collaboration in patient care.
